When it comes to the world’s land speed record, we often associate it with Andy Green’s Thurst SSC that managed to achieved a speed of 1,228 km/h (763 mph) and became the first car to officially break the sound barrier in Octoboer . However, little did we know, there is also a vehicle that claims to reached the same record and it is the Budweiser Rocket driven by Stan Barrett and designed and built by William Fredrick. They are claiming that the vehilce reached 739.666 miles per hour (1,190.377 km/h) and to have broken the sound barrier in 1979 which could have made it the first car to ever break that record.
